“The Poor Butcher’s Block ®” also known as “TPBB” is an original sculpture completed in 2018 (though the design process began over six years ago). It was created in the east coast of the U.S. (just a few hours from Toronto Canada), by an unconventional artist. TPBB is strikingly unusual, and like the other 11 sculptures that will follow, #12 is one of a kind. Made from a hand selected Railroad Tie, it is supported by four railroad spikes, on a customized base, with a very prominent meat cleaver on top. The features aforementioned make this piece particularly eye catching, and worthy of attention. There are two other details about “The Poor Butcher’s Block ®” that give this most interesting sculpture its appeal.
Genuine Gold is strategically set in two places on the piece. In one area, on the face of the Tie, Gold was designed to match the wood grain pattern. In the other area, Gold was inserted on the top surface to resemble a nail head. To insure its authenticity, there are two items hidden within the sculpture. Only the artist knows each location. The specific items, and the exact placements will be revealed solely to the buyer once the piece is sold.
